Founded in 1999, Versus Studio collaborated with international organizations to produce films and TV programs on human rights, human trafficking, border communities, freedom of expression, environmental issues, untold historical events from the Soviet era, economic reforms, and more. From 1999 to 2017, Versus prepared communication materials – texts, programs, and films – for the annual marathons of the Hayastan All Armenian Fund, which were broadcast to support fundraising efforts.
In 2011, Versus team established Factum Documentary Center, continuing their film production traditions and adding research on modern Armenian history. At some point, Versus and Factum worked together.
Versus Studio has extensive experience organizing international shoots. The documentary Improbability Theory: Georgian Reforms was entirely filmed in Georgia; The Impossible Is Possible: Samizdat 1960-80 was shot in Moscow and Paris; and most of Closed Border Dialogue was filmed in Turkey (Istanbul and Ankara).
